Marco Alex is a storyteller across two mediums: oil painting and fine art photography. His work is emotionally charged and narrative-driven, preserving moments of memory, solitude, desire, and fleeting human connection.

The strongest influence on his work is the narrative realism of Jack Vettriano, whose cinematic compositions and tension-filled scenes deeply inform Marco’s approach to visual storytelling. Alongside Vettriano, Marco draws inspiration from the psychological solitude of Edward Hopper, the refinement and painterly elegance of John Singer Sargent, the bold modernity of Édouard Manet, and the atmospheric color and light of Claude Monet. Together, these influences shape a body of work that is nostalgic yet contemporary, intimate yet universal. Whether through paint or photography, Marco’s art is grounded in realism, mood, light, and emotional truth.

Each painting is a one-of-a-kind original, created using traditional oil techniques on canvas or linen. Every original work is signed by the artist and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
